Jeanne Marie Horne Oxley Hill was born in McComb, Mississippi on June 7, 1927 and grew up in Kentwood and Ferriday, Louisiana, but lived most of her adult life in Jackson and then in Raymond, Mississippi. She died December 1, 2021 in hospice care in Ridgeland, Mississippi. She was 94 years old. Visitation will be Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11:00 a.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Hill is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Horne and Myrtis Oliver Horne; first husband, Brent C. Oxley, Jr.; and her second husband, James O. “Buster” Hill. She is survived by her two sisters, Kathryn Horne Galloway and Judy Horne Graeber; her three children, Brent C. “Buddy” Oxley III, Kimothy “Kim” Oxley, and Aimee Oxley Staples; son-in-law, Barry Staples; daughters-in-law, Vickie Morris Oxley and Lisa Swales Oxley; her seven grandchildren, Hillary Oxley Carr, Shelby Oxley Russell, Brent Oxley, Zach Staples, Kaitlin Staples, Justin Morgan, and Tim Morgan; and six great-grandchildren, Darby Carr, Savannah Staples, Rowdy Staples, Kaylee Morgan, Kason Morgan, and Locke Morgan. Jeanne was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church in Learned, Mississippi. She loved the Lord and her family above everything else.
