Mrs. Jeannie Hawkins

Mrs. Ruby Jean (Jeannie) Hawkins, 85 of Byram, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at her home in Byram. Visitation will be Tuesday 5-8pm and Wednesday from 10 until the 11am Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Burial will follow at Lakewood South. A native of Newton County, Mrs. Hawkins had lived in the Jackson and Byram area for the past 67 years. She was a former member of McDowell Rd. Baptist Church and now at Raymond Road Baptist. She was a woman of strong faith and is safe now at Home. She is predeceased by her parents, Willie and Ruby Lee Crane, siblings, Johnny Crane and Sherry Crane and her husband of 54 years, Walter J. Hawkins. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Thomas (Harry), Brenda Bullard, and Tina Winstead (Myrick); brother, Tom Crane (Betty); sister, Irene Smith; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one on the way; and one great great grandchild.
