Jeffery Grimes

Jeffery Grimes, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in Jackson, MS. He was 65 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 2:00-3:30 p.m. on February 1, 2025, at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence, MS. The memorial service will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Jeffery was born on December 6, 1959, to Jeffery Grimes, Sr. and Carolyn Harrell in Pine Bluff, AR. He was raised in Redwood, MS but lived in Florence where he was a member of Hickory Ridge Baptist Church. Jeffery was a Journeyman Electrician and was a member of the Local IBEW Local 480. He was an avid hunter. He was a role model and mentor for many kids in the area and coached Recreational Youth Football. Jeffery was known for collecting money for the less fortunate. Above all, he was a family man and they meant everything to him.

Jeffery is preceded in death by his parents, Jeffery Grimes, Sr. and Carolyn Harrell. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Elizabeth Grimes of Florence; sons, Brett Grimes (Kelsey) of Florence, and Evan Grimes of Olive Branch; grandchildren, Benji Grimes and Georgia Grimes; sisters, Debra Lee (Stanley) of Vicksburg and Billie Latham (Hays) of Vicksburg; step sister, Denise Powell (Bud) of Madison; nieces, Stacey Means, Kristen Gayle, Madisyn Gayle, McKinley Gayle, and Kaylan Tomlinson (Chandler); uncle, Joe Barranco; aunt, Beryl Grimes; cousins, Brad Grimes, Dominic Barranco (Megan), Jane Butler, Reid Butler, Tracy Mueller (Gary), Veronica Marks (Jim) and Vicky Ruley.

Special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Baptist Hospital for the loving care and attention that they shown to Jeff and his family.
