Jeffery “Jeff” Newton Traylor, 60, passed into the arms of Jesus on Friday, November 13, 2020, one day short of his birthday, at his home in Florence. Due to the guidelines regarding the Covid Pandemic, the family will have a memorial service at later date. Jeff was born November 14, 1959 to Dennis and Hilda Traylor in Hazlehurst, MS. He has lived in Florence for the last 24 years, moving from South Jackson and was a faithful member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. Jeff comes from a long line of Military family, spanning back to World War I. He, himself, served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting and 4-wheeler riding. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching NASCAR with his wife. He didn’t have kids of his own, but loved his step son, grandchildren, nieces and nephews like they were his. He was a “Roll Tide” Alabama Fan and was proud of the fact that he was learning to play the guitar. He was known to all as a “Wild Child” but above all, he loved the Lord and loved to pray. Jeff was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lina and Hilton Callender and his paternal grandparents, George and Connie Traylor. He is survived by his parents, Dennis and Hilda Traylor of Madison, MS and his wife of 23 years, Christi Traylor of Florence, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Gideon's International.
