Jennie Bryant

A tribute to our beloved mother, grandmother, comforter, and friend: Jennievie Kimbrell Bryant\ Jennievie (Jennie) Kimbrell Bryant was born in 1933 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Growing up, she experienced a less than favorable childhood that helped to mold her into the strong, generous woman that she became in her adulthood. Despite those adverse circumstances in her childhood, she grew strong in her faith as a Christian and married her husband, Cliff, on March 17th of 1953. Throughout their nearly 57 years of her marriage, she has worn many hats, and played many different roles. She was mother to her four children, surrogate mother to many others, and "Maw-Maw" to her nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. But most important of all, she was God's servant. If you were hungry, she would feed you, if you needed clothes, she would clothe you. If you were sick, she would care for you, and if you needed a place to stay, her house was your home. As her family, we have had the privilege of taking care of her, loving her, and serving her during her lengthy illness these last couple of years. After all the loving care she gave to us, it was an honor to be able to make her happy as we did the same. As we gather here today to celebrate the life of this amazing and Godly woman, we should all strive to carry on her mission. If someone is hungry, feed them. If someone is sick, hold their hand. If someone is hurting, give them a hug and tell them that God loves them. That is what Jennie Bryant would do!
