Jerry Ashley

Jerry Stanley Ashley, Sr., 65, went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 3, 2009 at his home in Mendenhall. Visitation will be 2pm until the 6pm funeral service Monday, September 7, 2009 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Graveside/Committal service will be 10am Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Lakewood Memorial Park.\ \ Mr. Ashley was a retired Fire Fighter for the Jackson Fire Department after 23 years of service and owner/operator of Ashley Air Conditioning and Heating Service. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam conflict and member of the American Legion in Mendenhall. Mr. Ashley was an active member of Temple Baptist Church .\ \ He is preceded in death by his parents, Odell & Leana Ashley; siblings, Robert D. & Hollis Ashley; adoptive mother, Lucile Boteler and father-in-law Webb Jones.\ \ Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Debbie Ashley of Mendenhall; sons, Stan Ashley (Shelly) of Azle, TX and Beau Abel (Rebecca) of Raymond; daughters, Alana Crain (Kendall) of Mendenahll and Denise Abel of Jackson; grandchildren, Jacob & Madison Ashley, Molly Mantooth-Ashley, Mason & Hannah Crain, Leanna, Eli, Ethan, & Asher Abel; adoptive father, Lee Roy Boteler of Mendenhall; mother-in-law Dale Jones of Jackson; brother, O.C. Ashley of Beaufort, SC and sister, Mickie Riley of Hattiesburg.\
