Jerry Wayne Copeland

Jerry Wayne Copeland passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. He was 54 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Lakewood memorial Park in Jackson.

Wayne was born on May 14, 1969, to Thomas Jerry Copeland and Julia Risco Copeland in Jackson, MS. Wayne had a passion for hotrods. Back in the day he would cruise McDowell Road and run a race or two. He would blow them up, fix them back and back out on the road he went. Wayne loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially squirrel hunting. He enjoyed cooking and watching cooking shows. He was known to fry up some deer meat smothered in onion and gravy with a slice of light bread and ketchup. Wayne knew how to eat!!! But above all else, he LOVED his family, especially his grandchildren who brought him much joy. Wayne will truly be missed by all.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father, and sister, Kim Copeland. He is survived by his mother, Judy Copeland of Jackson; wife of 8 years, Tammy Copeland of Harrisville; children, Kimberly Copeland of LA, Jeffrey Wayne Copeland (Brittany) of Pearl, Jerry Wayne Copeland (Melissa) of Harrisville, and Lorie Copeland of Jackson; and 17 grandchildren.
