Mr. Jerry N. Miller

Jerry N. Miller, 74, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at his home in Florence. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 12th from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, December 13th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 p.m. funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories. Mr. Miller lived most of his life in Louisiana before moving to Florence in 1973. He graduated Denham Springs High School before entering the U.S. Air Force where he achieved the title of Strategic Air Command with the Minuteman Missile Program. He worked for over 35 years with AT& T as a technician. He was a life time member of the National Rifle Association and a 40-year member of the Magnolia Rifle and Pistol Association. Jerry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed music, traveling, and reading. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest L. Miller and Lee Thaxton Sistrunk Chapman; and by his brother, Maurice L. Miller. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, George Ann Miller of Florence; son, Jerald Miller of Florence; daughters, Laura Miller Johnson (Kendall Jones) of Brandon and Shannon Leigh Miller (Brian Reister) of Brandon; sister, Debbie Sistrunk Lewis of Terry; grandsons, Ron Johnson, John “Jack” Miller McCallum and Dylan Gage McCallum; one great grandson, Landon Ryder Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
