Jerry Shores

Mr. Jerry Dorsey Shores, 70, died at the State Veterans Homes in Collins March 27, 2008. Visitation will be Sunday 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Interment will be in Garden of Memories.\ \ Mr. Shores was a US Navy veteran and he had resided in Collins for the last four years after coming from Pineville, LA where he had been a caregiver for his wife for many years. He had previously worked as a welder for International Paper. He enjoyed outdoors, planting trees, growing herbs, playing chess and reading. He was greatly loved by family and friends.\ \ He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia "Patty" Shores.\ \ He is survived by a son, Terry Shores of Summerville, GA, a daughter, Kristine (Charles) Tucker of Florence, sister, Vautice Pearson of Rome, GA; 2 granddaughters and one grandson, a niece and two nephews. \ \ Memorials may be made to American Alzheimer's Association, 1900 Dunbarton Drive, Suite H, Jackson, MS 39216.
