Mr. Jerry Martin Simmons

Jerry Martin Simmons,67 , passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-7pm Thursday, December 8 and 10am until the 11am funeral service, Friday, December 9, all at First Pentecostal Church of Jackson. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories in Florence. Mr. Simmons was born January 18, 1949 in Hazlehurst, MS to the late Paul Martin Simmons and Christine Mizell Simmons. He was graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. Mr. Simmons worked in welding supply sales for 41 years, retiring from the Lincoln Electric Co. on April 30, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara Barnes Simmons; his daughter, Tonya Simmons Wilkinson and her husband Scotty Wilkinson and their daughter Savannah Elyse Wilkinson; son, Jeremy Martin Simmons and sister Sara Goodman; extended family Kristi and Jason Bledsoe and their children Jaydn and Kyleigh ; Joey, Beverly and Jonathan Shows; Angus Roberts; Dewayne , Pam, Joel, Ashley, Rachel, and Daniel Barnes and a host of friends.
