Jesse H. Griffin Sr.

Mr. Jesse H. Griffin, Sr. of Edwards, MS, passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Jackson, MS on Saturday October 21, 2017. There will a visitation on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow at Richland City Cemetery in Richland, MS. Mr. Griffin, an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, and his dog. He coached baseball and loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports. In 1976, he won the Biloxi Deep Sea Fishing Tournament. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army; and, retired from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers after 60 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Griffin and Geneva Hodges. He is survived by his sons; Jesse (Debbie) Griffin, Jr. of Harrisville, MS, and Eric (Kim) Griffin of Ridgeland, MS; his daughter, Cindy (John) Orr of Florence MS., seven grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Veterans Hospital in Jackson, MS.
