Jessie DeKay Wilkinson, 88, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Willow Creek Nursing Home in Byram, MS. Visitation will be Monday, September 8, 2014 from 5pm until 8pm and Tuesday, September 9 from 10am until the 11am service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. Mrs. Wilkinson was a native of Leflore County, MS and lived in Jackson since 1969. She was a member of Raymond Road Baptist Church. Jessie really enjoyed singing and was a member of the Riggs Ramblers choir. She retired from Deposit Guaranty as a Collections Officer. She loved to travel with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mama D”. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles DeKay and Henry Wilkinson; brother, Billy Thompson. She is survived by her children, Glenda (David) Crain of Byram, Harold (Kathy) DeKay of Terry, Suzanne (Marty) McAlilly of Byram, David (Susan) Wilkinson of Ellisville and Stephen (Stephanie) Wilkinson of Richmond, VA; brothers, Jimmy Mardis of Flowood, Johnny Mardis of Brandon, Buddy Mardis of Brandon; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
