Jewel N. McCoy, 99, a loving and devoted wife and mother, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. \

She was born in Terry, graduated from Terry High School and Hinds Junior College. She married George Charles (G.C.) McCoy and they had two sons, Charles Kenneth McCoy (Ken) and Clifton Carroll McCoy. She lived in Jackson for many years, was an active member of Parkway Baptist Church, serving in the children's department and kindergarten. She moved back to Terry in 1977, becoming an active member of First Baptist Church in Terry.\

She was preceded in death by parents Albert and Mabel Nicholson, her husband George C. (G.C.), son Charles Kenneth McCoy and a brother Vernon C. Nicholson.\

Survivors include son, Clifton C. McCoy; two sisters, Dorothy Osborn, Velma McCoy (L.E.), and daughter-in-law, Margie McCoy; grandchildren, Ken McCoy, Jr., Amy Runyan, Tara Nation and Misty Thompson and nine great grandchildren.\
