Mr. Jimmy William Raney

Jimmy William Raney, 77, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 4:00—7:00 p.m. and again Wednesday, April 28 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 10:00 a.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. A resident of Terry for the past 18 years, Mr. Raney was born to Jimmy Raney and Mary Margenell Bradley Raney on October 13, 1943 in Jackson, MS. After serving in the US Army, he was employed with the MS Tax Commission for 30 years as the Director of the Print Shop. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his family and was the king of telling jokes. He was a member of Country Woods Baptist Church where he volunteered in Missions. Mr. Raney is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Raney; sons, Jimmy (Beth) Raney of Clinton and Dameon (Martha) Wright of Florence; daughters, Cyndi (Bryan) Tullos of Brandon, Liz (Michael) Fields of Lucedale, and Tricia (Kevin) Edwards and Lois Burris, both of Carterville, IL; grandchildren, Avery Grace, Greyson, and Walker Raney, Dalton and Mason Wright, and Raney and Madyn Tullos; and two sisters.
