Jimmy Bruce Matthews

Mr. Jimmy Bruce Matthews, 74, completed his earthly journey on October 13, 2011 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be Friday, October 14, 2011 from 5-8 pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and Saturday 9 until the 10 am service at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Lakewood South Cemetery.\ \ Born in Crystal Springs, MS, Mr. Matthews moved to Ridgeland, as a child and spent most of his life in Jackson. A veteran of the US Air Force, he was a member of Ironworkers Local #469 since 1955. He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church.\ \ He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann and brother Dale Matthews. He is survived by a son, Ken (Beverly) Matthews of Terry; daughters: Denise (Mark) Null of Florence and Karla Matthews and life partner Hannah Wall of Jackson; grandchildren: Allison Matthews, Amber and Katie Westmoreland, and Annielyn Null.\ \ In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Blvd., Ridgeland, MS 39157\
