Jimmye Bridgers, a loving and godly mother, went to be with Jesus on February 05, 2020. She was 87. Visitation will be Friday, January 07, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and again Saturday, January 08, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the service at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Bethesda Cemetery. Mrs. Bridgers was born to Agnes Whittington and William McCann on January 27, 1933 in McComb, MS. She moved to Terry after marrying the love of her life, Monk Bridgers, in 1951. Soon after, she joined Bethesda Baptist Church and has been a faithful member ever since, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School; singing soprano in the choir; and serving as church clerk. She was employed in out-patient administration at UMC for thirty years. Mrs. Bridgers also worked with Blue Cross Blue Shield and served as a part-time helper at the Baby Barn in Terry. She enjoyed shopping in her free time, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who she loved dearly. Along with her parents and her beloved husband, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Altha Mae Walker and Doris Strong. She is survived by her son, Allen “Chip” (Phyllis) Bridgers of Terry; daughters, Beverly (Mike) Rodriguez and Nancy Williams of Terry and Karen (Glenn) Taylor and Lisa (Floyd) Wade of Crystal Springs; sister, Margie (Jerry) Jackson of Crystal Springs; eleven grand-children, Vicki, Cristina, Lori, Marcos, Jason, Ryan, Brittany, Allen, Jessica, Megan, and Maria; and several great-grandchildren.
