Joan C. Causey, age 84, passed away peacefully on April 9th, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. Joan was of the Episcopal Faith and a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. She was born on November 19, 1935 in Covington, Kentucky to William and Emily Edwards. Joan will be laid to rest on Tuesday, April 14th with graveside services to be held at Lakewood Memorial South Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Joan was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, David Causey and his children Johnny, Jade and Jewel (mother, Kathy) and Karl Causey and his children Kaden, Ashton, and Scarlett (mother, Angela). Joan also leaves behind her sister, Janet Campbell and her brothers, Bobby Edwards (Linda) and Kenny Edwards (Sharon). She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving daughter, Rebecca Causey and brother, William A. Edwards. Joan graduated high school from Americus, GA and she attended the St. Dominic’s School of Nursing where she received her nursing degree as a registered nurse. She dedicated 38 years to nursing with her career starting in Louisiana and returning to finish out her career in Mississippi at Hinds General Hospital/CMMC as the Director of Nursing. Joan had many passions. She enjoyed floral design and working in flowers: with her favorite flower being the peony. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow. Joan loved the beach, seashore, and fishing. Joan embraced life and lived it to the fullest. She touched so many lives. Heaven has gained a very special angel. She will be missed and loved by many. In lieu of flowers, she requested memorials be sent to St. Jude or Batson Children Hospital. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant… Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Matthew25:21
