For almost 89 years, Joanna “Jo” Hartley Davis’ life was filled with laughter, the love of family, ad her love for God. Jo died Sunday, February 27, 2022 at her home in Byram, MS after several months of declining health. Jo was born in Mobile, AL and grew up in Lumberton, MS to the late Harry Hubbard “Hub” Hartley and Grace Lillian Lee Hartley. Jo spent much of her life raising and caring for her family. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Most of all, she loved God and her family and instilled in her children strong values that have served them well. Jo was a member of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church and attended Country Woods Baptist Church until her health started to decline. Jo is survived by her husband of 72 years, Hascal Lavern Davis; her daughters, Kathy Germany (Glenn) of Madison, MS and Carolyn Thomas (Randy) of Flowood, MS; her sons, Larry Davis (Debra) of Brandon, MS, Chuck Davis (Debbie) of Clinton, MS, and Bill Davis (DeLynn) of Clinton, MS; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Jo will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Visitation will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories in Florence, MS.
