Joseph Fred Minton, 76, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday, January 29 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and 10am until the 11am funeral service Wednesday, January 30 at New Life Apostolic Church in Jackson.. Interment will follow at Lakewood South.\ \ Mr. Minton was born in Nacogdoches, TX to the late Walter H. and Carrie Souther Minton. He was a good Christian man who loved the Lord and was known as the candy man at New Life Apostolic Church. Mr. Minton enjoyed history, reading and helping other people. He worked for the State Department of Rehabilitation as Disability Examiner.\ \ Survivors include his wife Ann Minton of Bolton; daughter, Sherri LaJuan Minton Ellis (Loyd) of Bolton; brother, John Minton (Vida) of Texas City, TX; sisters, Mattie Minton and Helen Whitehead (Sherwood) both of Nacogdoches, TX; grandson, Joseph Ellis and many nieces and nephews.\ \ On line guest book available at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com.\
