Joe Henry Williams, 78 , passed away Thursday, November 8, 2011 at CMMC in Jackson. Visitation will be 10am until 12noon Saturday, November 10, 2011 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Graveside services will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park at 1pm.\ \ Mr. Williams was born in Philadelphia, MS to the late Joseph C. and Annie Flora Blount Williams. He was an All-State and All-American football player in high school and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Mississippi Craftsman's Guild since 1976 as an exhibiting member and a wood carver specializing in walking sticks. Mr. Williams served for 22 years with Jackson Police Department, retiring as Sergeant.\ \ Survivors include his wife Flora Williams of Jackson, son Joseph Michael Williams of Jackson; brother Don Williams and wife B.P. of Jackson, and sister-in-law Bobbie Johnson of Forest.\ \ On line guest book available at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com.\
