Joel "Joey" Dodson

Mr. Joel “Joey” Edward Dodson, 59, of Terry, Mississippi passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at his home. There will be a visitation on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Chancellor funeral Home in Byram from 5:00-8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Terry at 11:00 AM. This service will be preceded by a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery in Utica, MS. A native of Utica, MS, Joey lived in Terry and worked at Birdsong Construction Company in Clinton, MS for 43 years. Joey was an avid outdoorsman and instilled a strong work ethic in his two sons. He was a great, hardworking family man who played by the rules and helped neighbors, friends, and family whenever they needed help. Joey was preceded in death by his father, Everett Dodson; his father in law James Lum; and, his brother in law, Alton Lum. He is survived by his wife, Angela Dodson of Terry; two sons, Tanner Dodson (Hannah Emerson), and Tyler Dodson (Adriana Monrroy) both of Terry, MS.; his mother, Audell Dodson of Terry; brothers, Dale (Sarah) Dodson of Byram, and David (Ruth) Dodson of Nashville, TN; a sister, Cynthia “Cindy” (Amir) Zandieh of Acadia, CA; Nieces & Nephews, Shelly Lawson, Eric Zandieh, Jaclyn Dini, Kimberly Durr, Kelly Curan, Emily Holiday, David Elton Dodson, Steven Wayne Dodson, Heather Zamjahn; and many great nieces and nephews.
