John Branson

Mr. John Heath Branson, Jr., 83, went home to be with the Lord at MS Veterans Home Sunday, September 21, 2008. Visitation is Monday 6-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Tuesday 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Cleary Baptist Church Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Branson had lived in Richland 6 years moving from Jackson. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and returned to graduate from Ohio State University. He was an aeronautical, electrical, and mechanical engineer. He loved being a pilot and flying, photography, traveling, and playing golf. He was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Terry.\ \ He is survived by daughters: Cindy (Dwain)Wood, Michele (Newton) Roberts and Jennifer (Mark) Lampkin; brothers: Paul Branson and Reverend Clifford Branson; grandchildren: Kyle and Ryan Wood, Amy Roberts, Lindsey Roberts Smith, Cody Roberts, Olivia and Wyatt Lampkin; great grandson, Landry Smith; former wife, Marlu Branson.\
