John Davis, Sr.

Mr. John Harrison Davis, Sr., 71, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the home of his daughter, Cindy Smith in Florence. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 5-9 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Thursday, March 12, 2009 at First Baptist Church, Florence from 11:30 am. until the 1 p.m. service. Interment will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery in Braxton, MS.\ \ Mr. Davis, a graduate of Harrisville High School was class valedictorian his senior year. He formerly worked for KLLM Trucking as a computer department manager before retiring. After retirement he worked as a consultant for many different companies. In earlier years he was an avid golfer and most recently loved racing radio controlled cars.\ \ He is preceded in death by a son, John Harrison Davis, Jr.\ \ He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Luckey Davis of Brandon; daughter, Cindy Smith also of Florence;step-mother, Freddie Mae Davis of Braxton; brothers: Jerry and Glenn Davis both of Braxton and Tom Rabinek of Dallas TX; grandchildren: Spencer, Abby and Cole Smith all of Florence and several nieces and nephews.\
