John Wilson Dear

John Wilson Dear passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at his residence in Florence.  He was 74 years old.

John was born in Terry, MS, on October 13, 1947, to the late James Hardie and Mary Elizabeth Dear. He was raised in the Jackson area most of his life moving to the Florence area 8 years ago. He formerly worked with Waste Management.  He served his country in the United States Army in Thailand and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.  

Along with his parents, John was also preceded in death by his brother James Dear in 2021. He was survived by his daughter, Lisa Hemphill (Matthew) of Florence; grandchildren, Kayla Hemphill, Madilyn Hemphill and Abbey Hemphill; sister, Linda Boler (Harold) of Jackson; brother, Ronnie Dear (Kathy) of Philadelphia; brother, Danny Dear (Connie) of Pelahatchie; sister, Mary Jennings (Roy) of Harrisville; brother, Bobby Dear (Debbie) of Florence and sister, Marsha Lewis of Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
