John Ezra Gray, 79, passed away after a brief illness at Hospice Ministries, Ridgeland, MS on February 7, 2020. Mr. Gray was born October 3, 1940, in Montgomery, AL, to William L. Gray and Lottie I. Broadway Gray. Following high school, Mr. Gray served in both the U.S. Marine Corps and then the U.S. Army. During his 30 year military career, Mr. Gray was the recipient of numerous commendations, awards, ribbons, and medals including the Meritorious Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 campaign stars, and the Legion of Merit. While in the military, he traveled to many countries. His post-secondary education included classes taken through University of Maryland extension classes abroad. Mr. Gray earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Mississippi College. He was an avid coin collector with many other interests. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Inge Gray; one brother, Daniel W. Gray (Virginia) of Cypress, TX; one sister, Barbara J. Cox (Raymond) of Prattville, AL, other relatives and friends. Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his parents; son, Johnny Gray; brother, Robert D. (Dean) Gray; and sister, Ruth Glenn.
