Mr. John Amos Harrison Jr.

John Amos Harrison, 87, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 at his home in Raymond. Graveside services will be 11:30am Monday, August 13, 2018 at Lakewood South. Mr. Harrison was born in Alabama to the late John A. Harrison, Sr. and Anna Bell Gorham Harrison. His working career was as a Civil Engineer with US Forest Service for over 30 years and he was a member of Country Woods Baptist Church. He loved his church, Sunday school class and was an avid supporter of Mission Byram. Mr. Harrison loved watching his grandchildren play ball, following them all over the state as they played and he enjoyed gardening. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Gloria Humphrey Harrison. Survivors include his son, John (Lisa) Harrison, Joy (Gary) Foreman; grandchildren, Bryan (Catherine) Foreman, Bradley Foreman, Mary Catherine (Michael) Martin, Mitchell (Becca) Harrison, Parker (Emily) Harrison; great grandchildren, Clara and William Martin. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Country Woods Baptist Church.
