John S. Hollingsworth, Sr.,85, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 24, 2009 in Jackson. \ \ He was born in Hinds County, on August 31, 1924 to Neal D. and Florence Hollingsworth. He married Agnes Winstead on September 1, 1951. He was employed by MS Power & Light for 30 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church for 29 years, Woodville Heights Baptist Church for 38 years and an active member of First Baptist Church of Byram. He was a member of the choir and a former deacon.\ \ Visitation will be 12-2pm, Saturday, December 26, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Byram. Services will be at 2pm at the church, with burial at Lakewood South Cemetery. Bro. Carl Prewitt and Dr. Carl Savell will officiate. Chancellor Funeral Home of Byram will handle the arrangements. \ \ He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Agnes, two sons John S. Hollingsworth, Jr. (Renee) and Andy Hollingsworth (Jamie) both of Byram. Grandsons Justin(Vickie)Hollingsworth of Brandon, Michael(Elisha) Hollingsworth of Yazoo City, and Caleb Hollingsworth of Byram. Granddaughters, Kristi(Corey)Goodson of Clinton, Katie Hollingsworth of Byram and Johnna Hollingsworth of Richland and seven great grandchildren. Brothers Robert Hollingsworth of Utica, Julius Hollingsworth of Byram and Paul(Pat) Hollingsworth of Byram. Sisters Fannie Morris Rhodes of Pelahatchie and Jeanette Baker of Byram.
