Johnny Bailey, 58 , passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at University Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 11am until the 1pm funeral service Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery in Terry. Johnny, born in Jackson, lived most of his life in Terry. He was owner/operator of Bailey Automotive and was an outstanding diesel mechanic. He was an avid fisherman, actively fishing in bass tournaments and he loved to cook. To know Johnny was to love him. If you took your car to be repaired, you not only got a “top notch” repair, you gained a friend for life. His sense of humor was everlasting and although he was small in stature, he was a giant and always had giant fish stories to tell. We as his family will always remember his bringing his beautiful bass boats for us to see and his always saying, “This is my last one!”. He was sweet, kind, and a loving son, devoted brother and loyal friend. He will be forever in our hearts. He is preceded in death by his father, Willard Bailey; brother, Clyde “Buddy” Bailey and sister, Wanda Bailey. Survivors include his mother, Emma Bailey of Terry; sisters, Ruth (Scott) Mareci and Diane (Bill) Turcotte; sister-in-law, Judy Bailey; six nieces and nephews and longtime friend Pam Peeples and her sons and grandchildren.
