Mr. John Alton Keys

John A. Keys, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on September 30, 2013 following a lengthy illness. He retired from Trailways and Greyhound Bus Lines as a driver with 42 years of service, and later went on to drive for Jackson Tour and Travel. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 2nd from 11:30-2 pm, with the service following at 2:00 pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Briar Hill Baptist Church in Florence. He is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Dale Keys. He is survived by his wife, Jimmie Faler Keys, sons: John Kerry Keys of Rhode Island, Kyle Lee Keys (Gwen) of South Carolina, daughters: Carol Keys Germany (Buddy) of Fayetteville, TN, and Kimberly Keys Shows (Brent) of Richland. His grandchildren include Chris Germany (Nicki), Amber Cumberland (Dan), Brittney Martin whom was like a granddaughter to him, and two step grandchildren, Sondra and Eric Wall . He has 10 great and 4 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, George Wilton Keys of Mendenhall, and numerous nieces and nephews.
