Mr. John Maurice Linnell III

John Linnell, 54, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood due to complications following outpatient surgery. Visitation will be Monday, November 20th at Star Baptist Church from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. The service will follow visitation. A graveside service will follow at Star Baptist Church Cemetery. A resident of Florence, MS, Mr. Linnell loved the Lord and his family, especially his grandchildren. He served as a deacon at Star Baptist Church. He was a craftsman who loved water skiing, hunting and fishing. John graduated from Mississippi College and was employed by the US Bankruptcy Court as an Information Technology Specialist. Mr. Linnell is preceded in death by his grandparents; Hazel and Raymond Barr; Gladys and Willie Fredricks and daughter; Crysta Brooke Linnell. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Libby Linnell of Florence; parents John and Cecilia Linnell; sons, John Calaeb Linnell, Sr. (Shelbi Bobo) of Florence and Zachary Hunter Linnell of Oxford; daughter, Hannah Linnell Sanchagrin (Blake) of Florence; sisters, Jody Koehler (Kevin) of Apache Junction, AZ, Angela Duncan (Wes) of Crestview, FL and Maureen Touchstone (Darryl) of Wiggins; grandchildren, John Calaeb Linnell, Jr, and Lane Maddox Sanchagrin; mother and father-in-law, James and Jo Ann Dixon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eddie and Melanie Dixon, Jay and Jenifer Ammons and best friends, Jim Shoff of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Cindy and Jack McKinley, of Florence, MS.
