John Thomas Myers the most caring father and grandfather us kids could ever ask for, went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2018 at 5:20pm. He was a compassionate, loving, and loyal soul to both his family and his belief in the Lord. He raised his family on the “Bible and the Belt” and we couldn’t have thanked him anymore Not only did he care for his family and beliefs, he cared deeply for his friends and his church. He served as Deacon, Treasurer, and Church Bus Driver at Fellowship Baptist Church in Jackson, MS for over 30 years. He was also known for his humor in all situations and making the best of whatever was sent his way and being the Lighthouse in bay to direct others to that same humor in the good and bad times. A man which in his darkest hours spoke the words of advice “Don’t give up”. He would want his passing to be celebrated as he is with the lord now. He left behind 3 kids, 17 grandchildren, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters whom all loved him and considered his greatest quality among many, was his unconditional love for his grandchildren. We ask that in place of flowers please donate all monies to the Church Bus Program at Fellowship Baptist Church. Visitation will be 5-8pm Friday, September 21, 2018 and 10am until the 11am funeral service Saturday, September 22, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Terry Cemetery.
