John Sedrick Sharp, 81, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Braxton, MS. There are no arrangements at this time. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Mr. Sharp was born March 23, 1939 in New Orleans, LA to the late Rudolph and Hazel Sharp. He began his career working as a Sanitarian for the LA Department of Health and ended his career working as an Environmental Scientist for the LA Department of Environmental Quality. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #102 in New Orleans. He had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help someone. He even served as caregiver for his father-in-law and his great aunt. He was a very patient man who never raised his voice. He was close to his siblings and he loved animals. He loved gardening and had a green thumb when it came to his plants, especially his fruit trees. Along with his parents, Mr. Sharp is also preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Mrs. Claudia Meyer Sharp; and his brothers, Morris and Robert Sharp. He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Anthony) LaFleur of Braxton and Gwen (Boris) Maglic of Gretna, LA; grandchildren, Jessica LaFleur Huff (D.W.), Nicole Amelia LaFleur, and Ivan Jadranko Maglic; and great grandchildren, Ellie Kay Huff, Harley Denise Huff, and Bryce Nolan Palmer; siblings, Lorraine LeBlanc, Glynn Sharp, Dale Sharp, and Seline Aldean Sharp; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the American Diabetes Assoc. or the charity of your choice.
