Mr. John Henry Townsend

John Henry Townsend, 82, of Florence, MS died peacefully at his home Sunday, October 16, 2016. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 18th from 10AM until the 11 AM Funeral Service at Briar Hill Baptist Church in Florence. Burial will follow at Briar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Preceded in death by parents Clyde and Mary Walters Townsend, sister, Mary Ella Michaud, brothers, Claude, Clyde and Lester Townsend. Survived by his wife, Nelda Townsend, son, Mark (Gail) Townsend, and daughter, Melanie (Allen) Israel; five grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. He was a piano technician for over 50 years, often referred to as the “Piano Man.” Is a member of Briar Hill Baptist Church, was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
