John E. Horton, Jr.

John E. Horton, Jr.,73, died Thursday, December 2, 2010 at MBMC in Jackson.\ Visitation will be 2-6pm Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be 11am Monday, December 6, 2010 in the funeral home chapel followed by interment at Pucket Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Horton was a native of Lambert, MS, born February 8, 1937 to the late John and Viola McLemore Horton. He had a 40 year career at Vickers/Eaton Aerospace as a Price Analyst. He was a 32 degree F&AM Mason at Clarksdale Lodge #28, a Wahabi Temple Shriner and member of Hinds Hunting Club. Mr. Horton was a long time supporter of South Jackson youth sports and now N.W. Rankin youth activities. He was a former member of Epworth UMC and a presently a member of First United Methodist Church of Clinton.\ \ He is preceded in death by his brother William Horton and sister Wilma Wells.\ \ Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara Horton of Jackson; son, Mark (Stephanie) Horton of Terry and their children Hayes and Gracie, son,Brian (Lisa) Horton of Brandon and their children Hunter, Peyton, Drew and Hallie; sisters, Nell Bowen of Greenville, MS and Audrey Allison of Pontiac, MI; a number of nieces and nephews.\ \ Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Clinton.
