John Edward Alexander, Sr.,77 , passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be 6-8pm Thursday, April 23, 2009 and 1:00pm until the 2:00pm funeral service Friday, April 24, 2009 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.\ \ Mr. Alexander was a native of Camden, MS and had lived in the Jackson area for 52 years. He was a Veteran of the US Army during the Korean conflict and was a machinist for Mills Morris and Brooks Noble and also an automotive parts salesman for a short period before his retirement. Mr. Alexander loved wood working and making furniture for others. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church and former member of Woodville Heights Baptist Church.\ \ Survivors include his wife of 52 years DollyAlexander of Jackson; son John Alexander and wife Gail of Byram; brothers, Shelby Alexander of Hurley, NM and Oscar Alexander of Ridgeland; sisters, Annie Kate Broome of Byram and Edna Earl Hill of Farmhaven; grandchildren; Jeffrey and Julie Alexander of Byram.\ \ On line guest book available at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com.\
