Mrs. Johnnie F. Dunn

Johnnie F. Dunn, 88 of Jackson, MS passed away peacefully on June 29, 2016 in Baton Rouge, LA where she was residing with her family. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 11:00-12:30, and funeral service will be immediately following in the chapel at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Johnnie was born in Attala County, MS on September 1, 1927 to Jesse J. and Katie Waller Ferguson. Johnnie loved to joke around and her hobby was shopping. She enjoyed spending her days reading, writing and conversing either in person or on the phone. Johnnie was very intelligent and even though she was almost 89, she was very conscientious about keeping up with current events. She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse J. and Katie Waller Ferguson, her eldest son Dr. Gary Steven Gipson, whom she lovingly called "Wee" and her great grandson Blitz Kosienski. She is survived by her three sisters Edna F. Sims, Sue F. Mims and Dorothy F. Keister all of Jackson, MS. She is also survived by her youngest son Jonathan "Barry" Gipson, his wife Billie, three grandsons, James Kosienski , Jonathan Gipson II and Joseph Gipson, and one great-grandson Roman Kosienski of Baton Rouge, LA. Johnnie also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Her family loved her very much and she will be dearly missed! "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."
