Jonathan Gifford Price

Jonathan Gifford Price, 50, went to his heavenly home, Saturday July 31, 2021. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Heritage Baptist Church in Byram. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am at the church. Interment will follow at Chancellor Funeral Home Garden of Memories. Jonathan was born March 23, 1971 in Jackson, MS to Horace and Joyce Price. His parents were founding members of Heritage Baptist Church in Byram, where he attended, was a member of and worked the sound booth. During his many years at the church, he volunteered free time to take care of needs around the church such as heat and air, lawn maintenance and any other needs of the church. He loved his family especially his children. He was a United States Navy veteran who served his country proudly. Jonathan enjoyed playing golf, owning Hot rods and going to car shows. He has owned many hot rods over the years but his most recent ones are a Classic 1958 Chevy Impala, 1985 Buick Grand National and 1983 Chevy C 10, which was once owned by Wayne Howell of Heritage Baptist Church in Byram. He also spent many years playing golf on the Eaton company team where he worked for 24 years. Those preceding him in death include his father, Horace J. Price and nephew, Alan Jack Pinnow. He is survived by his son, Austan Price of Pearl, MS; daughter, Gracee Price of Florence, MS; mother, Joyce Price of Pearl, MS; brother, Jerome (Kathy) Price of Amarillo, TX; sister, Jennifer (Carlton) Gregory of Oxford, MS; numerous nieces and nephews; friends and his girlfriend, Jennifer Williams. Jonathan loved his church and church family and they loved him. His family is very appreciative of the love and support the church family has shown during this time.
