Joseph Howell Belk, 67, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 at CMMC in Jackson.\ Visitation will be 2-5pm Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram.\ Services will be 10am Monday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Church of God Cemetery in Union, MS.\ \ Mr. Belk was in food sales most of his career, having worked for Craft, Conco, and Merchants Foods. He was once owner of Jackson Trophy on Ellis Avenue. Joe was an avid horseman, announcing and judging shows all over the state of MS. He was a member of MS Western Horse Show Association (MWHSA) and was the established Triple B Farms/Riding Club. Mr. Belk was a member of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church and former member of Southern Hills Baptist Church.\ \ He is preceded in death by his son Jay W. Belk and parents, J.P. & Estelle Howell Belk.\ \ Survivors include his wife Lynda Belk of Byram; brother, Edsel Belk (Janice) of Neshoba County; sister, Earnestine Belk Weir of Union; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Russell (Sherri) of Little Rock, MS , Gerald Russell (Dot) of Neshoba County; a number of nieces and nephews and 2 great nephews.\ \
