Mrs. Josie McGowan

Mrs. Josie W. McGowan, 92, a loving mother and grandmother passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be at 9am Monday, November 27, 2017 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Chapel services will be at 11:00am Monday with interment following in Lakewood South Memorial Park. Mrs. Josie was an 18 year resident of Terry, moving there from Crystal Springs. She was a retired operator with Bell South/AT&T and a member of High Pointe Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George William “Billy” McGowan; daughter-in-law, Karen McGowan; and was the last of 13 children born to the late William Green White and Sarah White. She leaves behind her loving son, Randy McGowan of Terry; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Sarah; and two great-grandchildren.
