Joy Woods

Joy Woods\ Terry\ \ Joy Woods, 59, died Friday evening, May 22, 2009, at her home in Terry surrounded by her loving family. \ \ Mrs. Woods was born July 21, 1949, in New Orleans, La. to Daniel and Grace Mejia. She recently retired from the Mississippi Department of Employment Security and was enjoying spending time with her husband and family.\ \ She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Henry Furr. Survivors include her husband Bill Woods of Terry, daughter Leigh (Terry) Breland of Terry, brothers Cyrus Mejia (Anne) of Kanab, UT, and Carlos Mejia (Eileen) of Portland, OR, father Dan Mejia and his wife Jeanette of Portland, OR, and sister Martha Eddleman (Tom) of Jackson, grandchildren April, Jeremy, and Gracie Breland, great granddaughter Taylor Mason, and many loved nieces and nephews.\ \ Joy was lovingly known as Goose by her friends and family. She will be missed greatly, but we are so fortunate to have her as our guardian angel.\ \ Visitation will be 2 pm until 5 pm Sunday afternoon, May 24, 2009, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be at the funeral home chapel on Monday, May 25, 2009, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Smyrna Baptist Church cemetery near Hazlehurst, Miss.\ \ Online guest book available at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com.\
