Joyce Bolton Harris

Joyce Bolton Harris finished the fight and entered the presence of her Lord Monday September 25, 2023, surrounded by her family, at the age of 96.

Joyce was born January 24, 1927, in Utica, MS to Clyde and Annie Skipworth Bolton. She spent the early part of her life in Utica and made her home in Star for the past 33 years. Joyce above all loved the Lord. She was a faithful and active Member of Star Baptist church where she taught and was loved as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. She put her love for the Lord in action daily by being a true servant and always putting others before herself. Among the many things she enjoyed doing with her family, was the love of reading which she shared with her granddaughter. Joyce loved to travel with her husband, John. She loved gardening and enjoyed the time shared every Saturday with her sisters, playing games, fellowshipping, and making memories.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Annie Bolton, sister, June Horton and brothers, Glenn and Wayne Bolton. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 33 years, John Harris of Star; daughter, Susan and husband Bill Mitchell of Raymond; son, Steven Brown and wife Paige of Huntsville, AR; sisters, Freida Cook, Gloria Rester; brother Derald Bolton; grandchildren, Sydney Mitchell, Ross Mitchell, Alex Brown, and Matthew Brown.
