Juanita Burris Shipp, 68, passed away Monday, April 20, 2009 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. \

Visitation will be 11am until the 1pm funeral service Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Adams United Methodist Church Cemetery.\
\
A native of McComb, Mrs. Shipp had lived in the Byram area for 5 years, coming from South Jackson. She was a retired engineer with South Central Bell and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a seamstress and loved gardening in her yard.\
\
Mrs. Shipp is preceded in death by her parents, Ford and Ileen Burris, her children, James Christopher Lake and John Wayne Shipp and brother Pollard Ford Burris.\
\
Survivors include her son Michael Shipp and fiancé Rene Rand of Linden, Al; daughter Tammy Alford and husband Tommy of Terry; grandchildren, Ashlyn Shipp, Garrett Windham, Blake Shipp and Kyle Alford.\

To all who called her "Nanny", she loved you dearly.\
