Born Judy Cook in Yazoo County, MS. She was the first born of Wallace Owen and Ann nee Beeson Cook on July 8, 1942. Judy spent many years in Flora, MS where she graduated high school and later raised her two daughters, Kathy, and Patricia. Over 30 years ago, Judy met and married, Charles W. Brasher, the love of her life. Together, they have enjoyed owning and operating 49 South Antiques and Flea Market for more than a decade. Judy spent most of her life studying the Bible and teaching God’s Word…from middle school aged at First Baptist Flora to adults at Lakeshore Church…so very many have been blessed by “Mrs. Judy’s” teaching and prayers. Her life was lived with her eternal destiny in mind and anyone who knew her also knew she loved Jesus with all her heart and wanted to share that love and care for others. Many appreciated her hand written cards and letters or her daily texted Bible verses.
Judy and Charles loved traveling many places and have the pictures to prove it. They were always up for a road trip to spend time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who are at the heart of all their best memories together.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents as well as her sister, Sara Elizabeth “Sally” Cook Rice. She is survived by her adoring husband, Charles Wayne Brasher; her brother, Owen (Beth) Cook; her step-daughter Cyndi (Allen) Johnston and their son Jake; her daughter Kathy (Bryan) Rogers; 3 grandchildren: Kailey (Robert) Vick; Elayna (Russell) Johnson; Nate (Courtney) Rogers and 5 great-grandchildren: Archer, Sydney, Clara Vick and Wesley and Lottie Johnson; her daughter, Patricia (Michael) Bronson and nieces and nephews: Chip (Yvette) Cook and Crissy (Michael) Parker; and grandniece and nephews: Wen and John Tucker Cook and Taylor and Ellis Parker.
The family wishes to thank everyone who cared for Judy through the years especially the Lakeshore Church community and Dr. Moore and his nurse, Chrissy, of Baptist Gynecologic Oncology. You are truly the hands and feet of Jesus here on earth.
