\ Mrs. Katherine Simpson, 89, went to be with the Lord Sunday morning February 1, 2009 at Central Mississippi Medical Center. Visitation will be today from 5 until 8pm at Chancellor Funeral Home, Byram and Tuesday from 1 until the 2:00 pm service in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS.\ \ A native of Madison, Mrs. Simpson lived in Byram for the past ten years, moving here from Utica. A homemaker whose family was her life, she was a member of the demonstration club in Utica. Mrs. Simpson was well known for her beautiful wedding cakes which she made for family and friends and was a member of the Raymond Road Baptist Church.\ \ Preceded in death by her husband of 62 year Wayne L. Simpson Sr.; siblings Holly Adcock, Jewel Berry, Rose Blackburn, Dorothy Carpenter, and George Adcock Jr.\ \ Survivors are son Wayne Simpson Jr. and wife Carol of Jackson ;daughter Carmen Morrison and husband Wade of Jackson; grandchildren Paul (Camille) Morrison, Kathy Mike) Tullos, Norman Morrison, and Shanda (Shannon) Sandridge; and eight Great Grandchildren.\ \ Memorials may be made to Raymond Road Baptist Church\ \
