Mrs. Katie "Kitty" Louise Oyler

Katie Louise “Kitty” Oyler, 84, passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at her home in Gulfport, MS surrounded by her family. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, November 23rd from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral service will be at 1:00 in the chapel with burial following in the Garden of Memories. Mrs. Kitty was born December 15, 1934 in Portsmouth, VA to James and Bobbye Guy. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a master’s degree in medical records. She later retired as the Director of Medical Records at Methodist Rehab. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed traveling internationally, mostly in Europe. She loved Airedales and was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Along with her parents, Mrs. Oyler is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Oyler, Sr. She is survived by her sons, Ralph Speede, Jr. of Gulfport, MS, and Gary (Ann) Speede of Mobile, AL; and by her brother, James (Norma) Ludie Guy.
