Kenneth Edward Evans, 80, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm Thursday, May 25, 2017 and 10am until the 11am funeral service Friday, May 26, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Hickman Cemetery at 4pm. Mr. Evans was born in Gulfport, MS to the late Nolan Alex Evans and Piccola Hickman Evans. He was Guidance Counselor for Jackson Public Schools and Unit Director for the Boys and Girls Club. Mr. Evans was a member of Oakview Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved to hunt, fish, enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Mr. Evans loved to sing, play guitar, harmonica and piano by ear. He was a MSU fan and loved the New Orleans Saints. But most importantly, he loved the Lord and enjoyed spending time in God’s word. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Port Gilbert Evans and sister, Lenora Ann Evans. Survivors include his wife Lovene Mallett Evans of Terry; sons, Timothy (Paula) Evans of Raymond, Stephen (Lori) Evans of Carthage and Brad (Cindy) Evans of Terry; daughter Tonya (Joe) Cashion of Puckett; sisters, Gloria Jean Evans and Sharon Evans both of Perkinston; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
