Kenneth Saxton

Kenneth Wyalon Saxton passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at his home in Florence.  He was 77 years old.  The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2023, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow immediately after the service at New Covenant Church in Harrisville.

Mr. Saxton was born on April 4, 1945, to the late William Marion Saxton and Mary Alice Eldridge Saxton in Midway, Mississippi. He was a member of New Covenant Church in Harrisville. Kenneth loved anything fast. He owned his own race car that he named “Terminator” and enjoyed racing with his son-in-law. He loved car racing, motorcycle racing, boat racing, ANY kind of racing. Riding dirt bikes. Anything with an engine. He loved horses and riding them. He had a horse he loved named “Candy Man”. He loved CB radios and enjoyed talking to people on them.  He had the gift of “Gabb”.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Alice Saxton; brother, Ernest L. Saxton; and sister, Sylvia Counts.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sue Saxton of Florence; daughters; Cherri Rineheart (Ervin) of Florence, Melody Netherland (Ronnie) of Florence; brother, Bobby Saxton (Connie) of Terry; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
