Mrs. Kitty Scarborough Banks

Kitty Margie Scarborough Banks, 82 passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 after a long battle with cancer at her home in Florence. Visitation will be Friday, August 16th from 5-8 PM and Saturday, August 17th from 9 AM until the 10 AM funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Interment will follow at Pinola Cemetery in Pinola, MS. Mrs. Banks retired from Mississippi Valley Food Services after 18 years of service. She enjoyed traveling overseas with her husband while he was working and consulting in the Overseas Furniture Manufacturing Market. She enjoyed following her grandson and granddaughters; watching him play soccer, baseball, and basketball and watching them in several activities including basketball. She was a diehard fan of the Atlanta Braves. Mrs. Banks is preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Jack” Banks; her mother, Dodie Coke Cassels; her father, Pascal H. Scarborough; and 2 brothers, Herston Thomas Scarborough and George Lyndal Scarborough. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Banks Blair and husband, Neil; her son, Lamar H. Banks and wife, Linda; and 3 grandchildren, Jason Blair, Sarah Banks, and Brooke Banks. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
