Lamar Tucker

Owen Lamar Tucker died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Central Mississippi Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Visitation will be at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram from 1-2pm Saturday, April 23, 2011 with the funeral service following in the chapel at 2pm. Interment will be at the Garden of Memories in Florence.\ \ Mr. Tucker was born May 24, 1926, in McAdams, MS to Owen Lamar, Sr. and Gladys Steed Tucker. He was preceded in death by infant son, Larry Glenn Tucker, his parents, four brother and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nona Milner Tucker of Terry, MS, brother, Lane Tucker of Grenada, MS, and beloved dog Samantha.\ \ Mr. Tucker was a veteran of the US Navy and the Air National Guard. He was a free-lance RV dealer for 40 years and former owner of Mill Street Motors. He was a long time member of Southern Hills Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and trustee.\ \ His favorite advise to anyone he met was to know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.\ \ In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CARA Animal Rescue, PO Box 231, Clinton, MS 39060.\ \ \
