Mr. Larry Wayne Byrd

Larry Wayne Byrd, 70, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at his home in Terry, MS. A memorial visitation will be held at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence, MS on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11:00 a.m. Larry was born in Jackson, MS on June 28, 1951 to Barney Byrd, Sr. and Nancy McGraw Byrd. He was a plumber by trade. After several years of employment in maintenance at Standard Life, he retired from Atmos as a service technician after 22 years of employment. In his spare time, Larry loved spending time outdoors and fishing. He loved life and lived it at a hundred miles an hour. He enjoyed throwing his voice, catching many people off-guard. Larry was a loving, loyal, and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Michelle Bass Byrd of Terry; son, Jason (Vicki) Byrd of Florence; daughters, Rebecca Byrd and Kristin (Cody) Phelps, both of Florence; brothers, Barney Byrd, Jr. of Byram and Glen Byrd of Jackson; sister, Linda Barker of Madison; grandchildren, Meredith Byrd, Ashton Bailey, DelaWrynn Phelps, Jett Phelps, and Sully Phelps; and a host of family and friends. Memorials may be made to Hickory Ridge Baptist Church.
